News in English

21 April 2008
Last night we officially closed entries for the 105 The Abbots Way Ultra Trail 2008 Zero Edition!

In the next few days we'll be contacting you, either by mail or by phone to verify your details... sometimes our fax, guided by some creative spirit so it seems, added a few artistic touches to the entry forms, and we've found ourselves with a entrant born in 1918... or not!

4 March 2008
Back from the Piacenza Marathon with an unexpected mini heat wave of 25 degrees. Pure Hell for many! So while we recover we've got some news for you!
We'd like to remind you that baggage transport is available from start, Pontremoli and through the major stages or route (Borgotaro, Bardi, Farini, Bobbio).
Transport will be provided only for Single runners from Bobbio back to Pontremoli on the 4th of May. For Twin Team runners, when one runner is not running it is presumed that he/she shall cover the leg by his/her own transport, whilst the other member of the team runs.
This year the 105 Abbots Way Ultra Trail, has a maximum limit of 50 runners.
The biggest news of all is our BLOG 105 The Abbots Way which will have all the latest news, info and stuff, plus we hope loads of pics. Where possible articles will be in English and Italian, but we're not promising anything! Written by Maria Arntzen Bellini and by Elio Piccoli.

We'd like to welcome Fiasp (The Iitalian federation of sports for all) and also CPM Piacenza (The Running committee of the province of Piacenza) who are both giving us a hand in making this "Zero" edition of 105 The Abbots Way a 360° enthusiasm fueled event!
We've moved the start time forward by one hour. So now on Saturday 3rd May 2008, in Pontremoli, we start at 8,00 am.
There is now also an official cut-off time of 12 hours, for Day 1 (Pontremoli-Bardi) and 12 hours for Day 2 (Bardi-Bobbio), so that we can take full advantage of longer days and also of the sun, whom we hope will accompany us, the weekend of 3&4 May 2008.
